The back bone of the empire Shields
Without shields there would be no line…period.
They protect the rest of the team and allow them to perform their jobs without harassment from the enemy archers and pole-arms. Although they are defensive in nature, a good shields man can ruin the opposing side with a fearsome shield charge provided they can communicate well with their team and seize opportunity at the right time.

Ah….this is garbage
Truly, if you knew what was good for you turn away now. Unlike its proper real world equivalent, the “mace” is gimmicky and allows for easy kills. It has allowed low level fighters in various foam fighting sports to unjustly consider themselves “skilled” when it is clear that they rely on an easy way out.
By picking up this weapon, you admit to the world that you need an exploit in order to win and that true skill is not a virtue you are concerned with. If you want to be seen as a sham, as a joke, and as a meta-gaming charlatan then please pick up this weapon and pursue some lesser degree of knighthood elsewhere.
Lothtarian Mace
Handle: Why even bother?
Courtesy Padding: Do you seriously want to touch it?
Rope: I mean look at it…
Ball: Ah… its so bad.
